So..What is 'party dip', anyway?
Red wasn't a fan of the 'salsa' you could buy in stores so he darn sure wasn't going to call his creation that! He invented the concept of 'party dip' and explained it this way:
"Dip is what you use it for and party is what happens when you do."
True in 1981, true today.

It began as a campfire brag
The year was 1981 and a group of hunters were gathered around a campfire after a long day in the field...
As hunters gathered around a campfire tend to do, they snacked and passed the time trading jokes and telling tall tales. Caught up in the moment, and disappointed by the 'salsa' he was eating, Red Baugh boasted that he could do better. The others replied, "Sure, Red. We won't hold our breath."
But they should have known better because Red Baugh was not a man to back away from a boast. That night Hell on the Red was born.
